Riding on their organic, self-funded and self-promoted wave of success, Airways release their latest single “Out Of Luck”.
The band enlisted Dom Craik from Nothing But Thieves as producer, who brought a uniquely modern, fresh, and darker sound to the band’s clever lyrics. The foreboding lyrics combined with chirpy guitar melody warn the listener of a world where humans are so wrapped up in their own greed, that the universe decided the only remedy was to take away the sun.
“Everybody said the sun would never stop
‘Til it faded away and the dark came to swallow them up
So they begged for it back cos the blackness became too much
Then the universe said you’re out of luck”
Singer / Songwriter Jake Daniels says of the lyrics, “I was sat at work one day-dreaming about what would happen if the universe just gave up on the human race, and this is what came out.
“We used up all the oxygen and burnt down the trees
Ignoring all the warnings, we killed off all the bees
This nuclear weather, it can’t last forever
Everybody said the sun would never stop”
Daniels says of the band’s more mature sound, "We got together to play music, and that means anything we like. We’ve got support on the indie circuit so far, but we have no intention of staying in one lane.”
